By the mid-1980s, Sega had established a name for itself in Europe through their high-grossing arcade games, and interest in their Sega Master System machine also began to grow later in the year. The Master System arrived in Europe at different points, starting with Germany (distributed by Ariolasoft) and Netherlands (distributed by Homesoft) in October 1986.
