The UK’s Master System was first shown at the Personal Computer World Show 1987, with initial consoles, bundled with two controllers and the card version of Hang-On, selling for £99.95 in the Autumn of 1987 (with similar release dates for France and Italy). Incidentally Nintendo (fronted by Mattel) launched their NES at around the same time for £99 (with Super Mario Bros.) – a full four years after it had arrived as the Famicom in Japan.
